I turned an end table into a rolling bar cart today and I'm loving it for my outdoor parties.

Usually if it is too far gone I pass it by.... but I love rolling carts.

These metal rolling carts are so cute but it is hard to find one in good shape. This one wasn't half bad, a little rust but no dents!

I found this beauty on the side-of-the-road...


Actually, my friend found it and and asked me to pick it up  for her but she never came and got it,
 so I'm thinking that possession is 9 tenths of the law.


I painted it with Old White, distressed and waxed it. 
I added vinyl letters that originally was printed to say BAKERY but BAR certainly worked better in this case.

I hung racks under the top shelf to hold wine glasses.

I'm loving the detail on the sides!



And I'm really hoping that when my friend comes over later today for my Cinco de Mayo party, she won't recognize this cart!

Next Day Update:

I found a wooden wine rack the perfect size at the thrift store. I painted it Old White to match the cart and added it to the bottom shelf.

I am pretty sure that if this can be saved anything can!

I haven't had my sewing machine out in years but since life has changed, I am now teaching my preschool class from home.

This just goes to show what a little paint can do...

I picked up an old cart with wheels at a local salvage barn and quickly turned it into a beautiful beverage cart.

Today I'm repurposing an old project that was no longer serving our needs. I was looking around for a large basket to create a laundry bin for our basement laundry makeover and I came across a wire basket I had used for another DIY project.  

So, what did I do with these babies?

My day began as any other day but today is the first day of my summer break, what a perfect time to add to the family!  As some of you know, we just lost our "Kitty." We had her for 23 years (yes, 23!) and it was starting to get a little lonely around here despite the fact that we have a 10 month old lab puppy. If you are a cat lover you will know what I mean. My 5th grandchild is due in August and we have a new puppy, but I needed a new cat. Call me crazy! 
My daughter and I set out to visit a few home foster places for cats but finally ended up at the Little Shelter near our home. They had room after room of large cats and a small room for kittens. If you have it in your heart to adopt an adult cat, there are literally hundreds of them in the shelter. It's very sad but I sup…

I don't give too many room tours but everything about my kitchen right now screams DIY.

Here is a flashback to the paint colors we used to transform our dark home a few years ago. We transformed it using a beautiful neutral color and it looks light, bright, and amazing.  The fall colors on the mantel enhance the beautiful neutrals and the decorations for any season will pop!

I hate the idea of waste and many times that is clearly evident at the grocery store! 
Our town has done away with plastic grocery bags and that was a great start but I've always wondered why they still have the smaller plastic bags to bring home produce. 
Trader Joes uses compostable bags made from 100% biodegradable materials but many of the other grocery stores still use plastic. 
This got me wondering what else I could use to carry home my produce.
