Vintage Drawer Message Center

When I found this very unusual piece
on the side of the road at first I wasn't sure
how this could be repurposed.

It was old and it was unusual but it was empty. There were no shelves, no bottom... nothing inside.

The first project I made from this unusual piece of furniture
was when I used the doors to create this Pedestal Chalkboard.

For this project I could remove all that awesome hardware...

Until I realized how cool the drawers were!

Four gorgeous antique drawers with some very unique hardware.

I've created using antique drawers before... and loved the results.

So you can see where I'm going with these...

I started out with chalkboard and music pages.

I added cork, a little wooden crate that works as a shelf,
and some gorgeous metal ribbon to the edges of the drawer.

For a little Christmas flair I added branches and a Santa
which can be removed or replaced with other seasonal decorations.

The hooks attached to the shelf hold keys or notes.

I decorated the finished drawer for Christmas but when the branches and the Santa are removed it will make a great organizer for any time of the year.
