How to Make a Junk Lovers Advent Calendar
Read along while I show you how I created a beautiful
junk styled
Advent Calendar
using repurposed items.
Today, taking inspiration from
Cottage and Bungalows December magazine,
I repurposed an old shot glass wall shelf
and turned it into an advent calendar.
I began this project by painting an old shot glass
wall shelf with white paint.
White paint instantly
transformed an old cast-off into a blank canvas.
Filling the spaces with fun junk was the best part!
Using small boxes found at Michaels
and a package of white stickers,
I created the beginning of
a month long family Christmas celebration.
Each day from December 1st through Christmas Eve,
children open a box to reveal a small gift or candy treat.
To give this project my favorite junk style... some days a hand made ornament created from something rusty or found in the workshop takes the place of a gift box.
Strings are attached to hang the ornament on the tree.
An advent calendar is an inexpensive and beautiful way
to celebrate the holiday season with your family.

You can't beat a creation that gives out gifts throughout the month! Clever and very rewarding. #christmasjunkersunited
