Fall Decorating & Mantel

My Fall mantel started out with a little
project in the shop first, then a few pieces from
a discarded piano.

I had leftover antique floor boards once found on the side of the road. I attached 3 together with 2 boards on the back.

Brass pieces from a piano I also found on the road
created perfect legs for each side.

I wanted to give the sign a little added character.

I painted on the word FALL, heavily distressed the boards,
then gave the sign a coat of lemon oil to darken the finish.

Old tools are my favorite thing to decorate with.

You will always find an old vice or some rusty gears in my decor so the piano pieces were the perfect touch.

A few other favorite things balance off the ends of my extra long mantel.

A handmade mini ladder and a very tall candle holder made from a wooden thrift store bowl and a discarded column.

A rusty pick ax makes a great candle holder... why not?!

My mantel is ready for another fall season!
