How to Make Rustic Peg Hooks

I'm hooked on these vintage pegs!

Turn old pegs into a new DIY project for the kitchen.

These were vintage pegs left over from an antique bed I repurposed and were too good to throw away.

So with some driftwood lumber scraps and a little bling,
I repurposed those pegs into rustic hooks.

  1. These pegs are so beautiful in their rustic simplicity. I lo-ove them.

  2. My husband hung a project for me today from a meat hook - his own idea. I felt like he was channeling you.

  3. What is the average length of the pegs?

    1. Hi Pat, Each peg sticks out of the wall about 3"

  4. Did you stain them them two-tone?

  5. No that is the way they were. The wood is all different and the pegs were already stained that color. The metal makes them look like a set :) Are you making some?

  6. Yes, I am Putting barn wood in the bathroom. I made two Slider doors from recovered barn wood. I have a floor to ceiling beam (4X6). There are holes in it from when it was part of a barn structure. I want to put pegs in it to hang things. A white fluffy bathrobe would look very cool hanging from the beam. The holes go all the way thru. I had to old crooked pool sticks that fit perfectly. I sanded them and I will trim them. I want them to look like yours. I bet the two tone was from when the peg was half in the hole and half out for a time.

    1. I would love to see photos when you're finished! It sounds amazing! You can send photo to my email
