Finial Pumpkins

I had these antique bed knobs and feet
leftover from another project.

I can't throw anything away that might have another life,

so I'm using these in my fall decorating..

They were removed from this bed when I
needed the other pieces for another project.

Now theses old finials are going to be part of my
fall decor, if you can believe that....

First I painted them orange with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint
in Barcelona Orange and gave the "stems" a coat of green.

As you can see I added a metal finial to the top of one of the knobs that was leftover from an old outdoor light fixture.

Next I waxed the finials with dark wax, drilled a hole in 2
for a strand of wired berry garland.

And now... they are pretty rustic pumpkins!

Repurposing is my favorite thing to do and today it is
for fall holiday decor!

  2. Super duper cute! I'm the same way. I can't throw anything out if I think it could be used for another project - much to the chagrin of my husband.

  5. I Have bunch of those old small molds you used, been saving them forever, thinking someday I'll figure out what in heck to do with them. Well doggone if you didn't trigger ways to use them, finally. My hubs gets highly irritated with me when I save all the little bits and bobs. Too bad buddy, I pay half the mtg. lol.
Ok now am going to go look at some of your other projects. We too have a shutter shelf but it's put together differently.Used shutter as backing for shelf and some metal brackets had been hauled all over this country til I figured out what to do with blasted things. You'd just die if you saw our big shed. eeeekkkk, lol.
