Chalk Painted Metal Christmas Ornaments

Even if it is no where near Christmas...


I found this pile of metal ornaments at the thrift store.
they will be perfect for the craft fair I'm doing next weekend!

They were originally marked $10.00 each...
Lucky for me, they were only $1.00 each now.

I'm not sure where they were from but for that price they must have been something special! 

But not as special as I knew they could be...

I gave the ornaments two coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint
in Old Ochre.... Chalk paint because it sticks to metal.

I originally painted on metal ornaments when I made these very popular tin ceiling hearts last year.

When the paint dried I attached a string and a tag.

They came out adorable!

And I bet you are wondering about that
ornament stand... it is a wooden mug hanger from the thrift store. 

The stand was $1.00 and with a couple coats of Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Ironstone and a pretty glass knob attached to the top, it has a new life as a great place to display my ornaments.
