Vintage Typewriter Table
A vintage typewriter desk gets a makeover...
This table sat too long in my shop...
it was time for a makeover!
I'm adding affiliate links so you can access the products I used by clicking the bold links.
Rusty, dirty, and scratched.... The first thing I did was give it a good cleaning with Krud Kutter.
The next thing was a couple coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Pure White.
When the paint dried I got to work on my postal image...
I traced a circle onto the desk and using stencils and a Sharpie paint stick, I added the lettering.
For more info on adding a postal stamp check out my IKEA Cart Re-Make post.
The next step was to age the piece... I love using Rust-oleum decorative glaze....
The glaze gives it an antiqued finished as well as a protective coat.
While I was painting the desk I created areas of thick paint to create texture when it was glazed.
It creates a beautiful effect on the desk.
I repainted the rusty metal on the bottom shelf with a mixture I created of Barcelona Orange, Provence, and Graphite to create a brown that matched the brown metal paint on the desk. I protected the shelf with dark wax and the match to the legs was amazing!
The typewriter desk now has a beautiful image and antiqued finish.
And it quickly sold in the Homeroad Shop!
