Painting the House... Getting Ready
Having the kitchen painted a beautiful neutral white sounded like a great idea...
Until it came to the reality of taking EVERYTHING off the walls and off the furniture and shelves so this could be done.
Every picture, every wreath, every dish, shelf, hook, ladder and letter.
This may sound like a big job and it sure is but I'm having it done to the ENTIRE downstairs of my house at the same time...
A little cray-cray, I know (my new favorite word) ....
All the trim will be painted Bright White and all the walls downstairs will be Ballet White by Benjamin Moore.
The walls are a nice color now but since the kitchen needed painting I'm going ahead and having it ALL done!
Since it is an open floor plan it just makes sense.
The kitchen cabinets were painted a few years ago with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint and I'm thinking the new neutral white is going to look awesome with the cabinets...
And now the house I never really show on my blog will be out there for all to see...
Almost time to roll up the rugs and move all the furniture into the center of the room.
I hope you will stick with me for the next few days and watch the progress!
Oh my gosh - you do have a pretty big job on your hands but I do agree - the new all white look will be amazing!
ReplyDeletei will be following to see your progress and i have a some questions please..... did you put a sealer or wax over your cabinets and how are they holding up? thanks
ReplyDeleteThat would be some garage sale... good luck. I'm about a year away from repainting the kitchen and living room. Can't wait! It will be interesting to see what you put back... fresh slate. xo
