DIY Chalkboard Peg Hooks
A few repurposed pieces come together to create a useful message center...
Sometimes I just love tinkering in my basement... finding pieces I've collected and putting them together to see what I end up with.
Today was one of those days.
I began with a slatted raw wooden piece found along the way at some point.
I stained the raw wood with the vinegar and steel wool solution that gives the wood a vintage look.
When the stain solution was dry I added pegs. The pegs were actually old Cribbage game pieces.
Then I added an old thrift store frame with a chalkboard added inside.
I painted the entire piece white using Annie Sloan Chalk Paint®.
The finished project is perfect for by the door to hold leashes and add reminders.
I love creating useful projects from bits and pieces of things that would have been discarded!
