Make a Jewelry Dish and Bracelet Holder Using Thrift Store Finds
Last week we had a blizzard on the East Coast
which meant 2 snow days off from school and
project time for Homeroad!
With over a foot of snow there was nothing to do but create!
Using what I had in my workshop thrift store stash I built a fun organizer for jewelry.

I started out with an old curtain tieback and a wooden bowl.
I cut the top off the wooden curtain tieback then using Gorilla wood glue and my Ryobi nail gun nailed the bowl to the top of the pedestal.
I used a pretty blue chalky paint like this one to paint the piece and I always start painting by turning the piece upside down, it helps easily get all the underneath parts without missing a spot.
And not to waste a single part, I am using the top of that tieback too.
I cut and a small spindle and using wood glue and the nail gun again, I attached the spindle to the top of the tie back.
More blue chalky paint and my 2 creations are a matched set!
When the paint dried I distressed the edges with 220 grit sandpaper then used a paste wax to seal and protect.
The perfect place to hold your jewelry!
No jewelry? How about a battery powered candle dish?
So keeping myself busy during a snow storm and creating a couple of useful home decor items too.

DeleteWhat a fun idea! I love how they turned out, and they look like they would be pretty easy to make. Love the color and the distressing. I have some spindles, now I need to find a wooden bowl. Thanks for sharing!
