Upcycled Rustic Teal Pumpkin Tray
I was cleaning out and throwing away when I ran across a footed tray I found at the thrift store a while back.
It wore out it's welcome at my house, things come and go very often. Often my things are shared with my daughters that have houses end up back here again. I decided before I sent it back to the thrift store I'd try to up-cycle it for the fall.
I began by painting the tray Raw Silk by Fusion Mineral Paint. You can find a Fusion Mineral Paint dealer near you by visiting this bold link. I gave it only one coat because I was going for a very rusty look in the end. As usual all the blue bold writing in my posts are links to products or blog posts that coordinate with this project.
Using a pumpkin stencil from a Holiday Stencil pack, I cut the cardboard into a circle so it would fit on the tray and be easier to use. I stenciled the pumpkin with Robin's Egg Blue Annie Sloan Chalk paint.
I put the handles back on the tray and put it in front of a fan to dry.

I antiqued the tray with a gel stain then sealed it with Fusion Mineral Paint Tough Coat Poly. You can read all about my favorite crafting supplies by visiting my Amazon Shop.
I'm glad I gave this little tray a second look before I sent it back to the thrift store. I love the way it came out!
This is the perfect little tray to use for entertaining or just sitting out on the coffee table.
