The painted finish of a galvanized steel table top is a look I've always wanted to achieve. This DIY paint treatment gives you the look of galvanized steel without the price.

Pearl Plaster and Graphite Annie Sloan Chalk Paint created the perfect finish!

First I painted the table top in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Graphite which is almost black.

Next I mixed up the Pearl Plaster with just the right tint of Graphite paint.

Using a sea sponge I pounced on the pearly-grey plaster paint.

When the paint dried I had the perfect galvanized finish.

I gave the table top a coat of Annie Sloan clear wax to protect and enrich the beautiful patina.

I added silver upholstery tacks to the edges of the table to create the look I was after.
