How to Create a Galvanized Table Top Look

The painted finish of a galvanized steel table top is a look I've always wanted to achieve.

Using a product called Pearl Plaster by Artisan Enhancements (this is their website) it was easy!

The table I chose to galvanize had a very damaged top.

Pearl Plaster and Graphite Annie Sloan Chalk Paint created the perfect finish!

First I painted the table top in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Graphite which is almost black.

Next I mixed up the Pearl Plaster with just the right tint of Graphite paint.

Using a sea sponge I pounced on the pearly-grey plaster paint.

When the paint dried I had the perfect galvanized finish.

I gave the table top a coat of Annie Sloan clear wax to protect and enrich the beautiful patina.

I added silver upholstery tacks to the edges of the table to create the look I was after.
