Antique Writing Desk
It is always fun to take a before and see where it goes...
This antique writing desk had a lot of potential but needed some TLC.
The original castors and hardware were beautiful, just needed a little cleaning.
The table had some bumps but the top was almost perfect.
I painted the desk with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint® in Chateau Grey.
The color is a beautiful greyish green.
Two coats were all it needed to bring this old desk some beautiful new style.
I distressed the edges with fine grit sand paper and painted the drawers both inside and out.
I coated the finished piece with Miss Mustard Seed's Tough Coat.
The sealer is strong and and has a beautiful matte finish.
This antique writing desk was brought back for another beautiful life. The antique chair is painted with Miss Mustard Seed Milk Paint in Trophy.
The random chippiness of the paint and the beautiful grey color are perfect to pair with this antique desk.

Hi Susan,
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful makeover on that little beauty!! It looks awesome! I wish I could embrace the whole furniture makeover thing myself! I have only done a couple of pieces, but see great stuff all the time just waiting for me to adopt it and make it pretty again!
Have a lovely week!
