Project Challenge Repurposed Signs

This project is one of my favorites...

Reclaimed wood signs using old decking www.homeroad.net

Repurposed signs... in all sizes and shapes. Painted and not painted... hand painted and stenciled.

These reclaimed painted signs are my reclaimed wood project challenge for this month...

These gorgeous signs are created using reclaimed decking that I found on the side of the road. They were found tied up in nice bundles of wood just waiting to be picked up and thrown into the back of my car. Read about that sad story here.

Some of the boards I stencil using Old Sign Stencils by Funky Junk Interiors.

Other signs I created by using my computer. I printed out a word on the computer then using carbon paper I transferred the image to a board then hand paint in the words.

Signs are a big part of my business... I make them, I sell them and I love them. Many of these signs sold at our local library craft fair... others I sell in my shop.

I love reclaimed wood projects but making signs is my absolute favorite thing to do!

  2. Your signs are awesome and even more so since the wood was free! How great is that? I want that white one with the black laundry letters! I have been meaning to make a sign like this for years. I've even bought the large stencil letters to do it and just haven't gotten around to it, but seeing your sign beautiful sign has motivated me to get going on it!

  5. Susan, I just love your signs. I often visit your blog for inspiration. I've made a few signs for my booth from very old, thick barn wood and the 1 inch flooring boards, but I've not posted about them yet. Hope to before your link party goes away! I barely have blogging time anymore, but I'm trying. I just don't know how you do all you do plus blog at the same time!
