How to Upcycle Old Sewing Machine Drawers

A great little find at the thrift store gets a more functional makeover.
I loved this little set of antique sewing machine drawers but someone had put a shelf on the top at one point with "D" rings to hang it sideways that made no sense to me...

So my very first step was to remove the shelf...

You'll be seeing that on another project you can be sure of that!

I'm using Fusion Mineral Paint on this project in Coal Black.

I love that it will stick to wood with no sanding or priming and the best part is that there is no need for a top coat.

The paint goes on smoothly and covered these drawers in just one coat.

I changed out the old original hardware with a couple of vintage brass knobs then covered the 2 holes in the top of the box with brass pins leftover from this unusual hutch I found on the side of the road.

The redesigned version of these sewing machine drawers makes a lot more sense to me...

It is now perfect storage for an office or I might just keep it
for make-up in my own bathroom!
