Mid Century Modern Server Makeover
My daughter is moving into a new apartment and I'm sharing some of her awesome projects!
My daughter is a big fan of Mid Century Modern...
It is a style I grew up with so I can appreciate the Mid Century style but I'm a Modern Farmhouse girl myself.
Kasey borrowed my paint, brushes, and wax and got to work.... Painting with Chalk Paint® is easy. No sanding, priming, or stripping involved.
She removed the doors then gave this pretty server 2-3 coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Pure White.
Kasey removed the old hardware replacing the original wooden handles with knobs and handles from IKEA spray painted gold.
The base of the table was left alone. All it needed was a coat of Hemp Oil to brighten the wood.
Beautiful job Kasey!
I think my favorite parts are the blue interior and the wooden base!
I may just become a fan of Mid Century Modern furniture!
Stay tuned for more projects from the new apartment!
Update 4 years later:
Due to 3 children and a lot of fingerprints and marker, this server got a Sacred Sage by Fusion Mineral Paint Makeover.

Love this MCM buffet makeover! The inside color is perfect for this piece! Great find & stunning makeover:)
ReplyDeleteSusan, that was one wicked makeover!! The before was hideous, and you made that piece shine. Great job!
ReplyDeleteLooks GREAT!! Love the transformation!
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteThis looks great - Love it.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to see how this eventually fits in with her other decor! Personally I just can't get with mid-century modern, having lived through it, but I can see why a young person might be attracted to something from such a "bygone era," and she's certainly given this her own spin. A vast improvement.
ReplyDeleteWill the Hemp Oil that you get at the Health Food Store work for this?
ReplyDeleteyou taught her well awesome xx
ReplyDeleteWow, great transformation. I love that you left the base original.
ReplyDeleteAwesome makeover!! Love the oops blue against the white! Stellar piece!
