DIY Farmhouse Shelf and Towel Bar
I saw the cutest little Farmhouse shelf on an Antique Farm House email and I wanted to build one just like it for myself.
I began with the front of a drawer front and a long handle. I attached the handle to the bottom of the shelf to use as a towel bar then using a piece of wood saved from another project, I built a ledge to hang the shelf to the wall.
I painted the shelf with 2 coats of Raw Silk by Fusion Mineral Paint. You can find a Fusion Mineral Paint dealer near you by following this link.
The piece on the back was just perfect for this project. It has 3 holes for screws that will attach this shelf to the wall. Just goes to show, you should never throw out anything you might be able to use again later!
I had a wire basket in my stash that matched the towel bar perfectly!
Hang a tea towel from the towel bar and hang it in the kitchen or bathroom for a little extra shelf.
My DIY shelf looked very much like the one I saw in the email only I made mine from bits and pieces I had around the workshop so it cost me nothing!
