Repurposed Hardware LOVE Sign

This project started out with a drawer front from a kitchen cabinet and a bunch of old hardware.

I gathered the supplies I needed to create this rustic Valentine's Day sign...

White cabinet door
I began by looking through my workshop stash for items I could use as letters to spell out LOVE.

Once I found the hardware I needed I cut a piece of shiplap scrapbook paper to fit inside the recessed section of my cabinet drawer front.

I arranged the hardware letters on the board and attached them with hot glue.

If you don't own a cordless glue gun yet, you need one!

You can literally work from anywhere without having to worry about a cord!
                   L and O in hardware
For the "L" I used two metal backings for furniture knobs.

I painted them with a brushed steel color from Fusion Mineral Paint to give them the color I wanted for this sign.

The "O" was a metal piece I had painted with chalk paint at one time and added a vintage typewriter key to the center.

For the "V" I found 2 double marine hooks that I attached at one end and glued to the drawer front.

The "E" was a no brainer...

The vintage drawer handle with a knob in the center made the perfect letter E.

I just love the chippy finish on this piece.

I hung two D rings on the back of the drawer front to hang it on the wall.

This sign can sit on a mantel or table top for the perfect neutral Valentine's Day decoration.

Take a look at another one I made because I loved this one so much!
