How fun to combine a love of repurposing  with a green thumb?

My daughter and I worked on a project for an auction recently. The project, like most of my projects didn't end when the blog post was over. 

Together we worked on a vertical succulent garden in a vintage frame. Her plant expertise and my love for DIY came together to create a beautiful project for the auction. 

I've seen these vertical succulent planters all over Pinterest and even though I do not have a green thumb, I was anxious to make one. 

When my plant loving daughter decided to make one to donate to a local auction, we teamed up our skills and got to work. 

I had several wooden egg cups leftover from another project and while passing through the workshop today I had an idea! 
There was Dollar Tree floral foam on my workshop table and that was all I needed to see. 
This easy and inexpensive idea looks so pretty on a small shelf and if you're a succulent lover, just anywhere is a good place!

Recently I was given a bag full of individual succulents. 
I'm not a big plant person but I have been known to keep succulents alive. 
Today I'm going to make an adorable planter garden for these plants. 
I'm thinking it will make a great Mother's Day gift!

I'm a little unsure what to call this little tote but I  know I definitely want it around holding some  of my favorite gardening things.
