Vintage Anagram Tile Signs

I'm a lover of all vintage game pieces so when
I found this box of Anagram tiles I nearly flipped!

I want to create signs and ornaments with them like I do with the Scrabble tiles and the Jenga® pieces.

I started this project with several packages of large paint sticks from the hardware store.

These sticks had ruler markings on them so they were pretty cool to begin with.

Minwax cloths for staining wood

I stained the sticks using Minwax wood finishing cloths which made the staining process a breeze.

When the stain dried, I glued the tiles to the sticks using wood glue then cut the sticks to the right size using my jigsaw.

I drilled holes in each corner of the paint stick then attached a length of rebar wire.

I love rebar wire for signs, it is the perfect thickness yet still easy to bend.

I created signs that said "I am thankful","we are thankful", "peace on Earth", & "Merry Christmas".
