How to Make Buffalo Check and Toile Rag Garland
DIY black and white buffalo check garland for my
Christmas mantel is my plan today.
This is an easy project that took about an hour and cost, well nothing.
I gathered pieces of an old cotton curtain, scraps of buffalo check fabric, one black and white toile napkin and a length of thick jute.
I folded all the fabric scraps in half then started to cut strips about 1-2" thick on each fold.

I tore the strips down the length of the fabric to give it a frayed look.
Once each of the strips were cut and torn to about the same size I hitched each one in a pattern to a length of thick jute.
When I was finished I laid it out on the table and removed any random strings.
Next I gathered the rest of my supplies... thin twine and silver bells.
I cut short pieces of the twine and tied a bell to each section of buffalo check along the garland.
When the garland was finished in about an hour I hung it from my mantel.
The garland is beautiful and it matches my Christmas tree!
