Spring Nest in an Enamelware Ladle

I'm having fun making a vintage decoration for Spring using
an enamelware ladle and a cute little nest.

I made my own nest by wrapping a little Spanish moss into a circle. I hot glued a few tiny speckled eggs into the center of the nest. This works well and a bag of moss is very inexpensive.

I had a vintage enamelware ladle laying around from a past antique store trip and decided to use it to hold the nest. I made a similar project several years ago using an enamelware ladle and a candle and wanted to update that look for Spring. I attached the ladle to a chippy blue stained board using hot glue, then filled the spoon section with the nest.

I added the word NEST using Scrabble letters and attached it to the wood with hot glue.

This really is an adorable little Spring project that took very little time and only a few supplies that were easy to find.

  1. Ah what a cute spring project! I think I have a old galvanized spoon somewhere, all I need is some small eggs.
