Make a Vintage Chair Planter

I've been wanting to do this for a long time and on my
morning walk I found the perfect chair!
Vintage chair found on the side of the road
I hopped back in the car and grabbed it and as soon as I was home I began work on this cute little chair.
It was the perfect size and the rush was already broken and it was easy to remove the rest with a carpet knife.

I'm using Fusion Mineral Paint on this project, it will hold up great outdoors and the color Liberty Blue is beautiful! Visit the bold link to find a Fusion Mineral Paint dealer near you.

The color looks pretty dark in this photo but it is actually a pretty navy color. I gave the chair one coat and it was ready for a stencil.
Old Sign Stenciled chair planter
I used the HERB stencil from Old Sign stencils to give a little pop to the back of the chair. These stencils are awesome, you can use all or just parts of these stencils. Check out the Herb planter I made recently that used the same stencil.

Adding an enamelware pot to a planter chair.
All that was left was to add a pot. I had an old rusty speckled enamelware pot that fit just right in this little chair and the color even matched. I had to remove one wrung from the back of the chair for it to fit perfectly and rest on the pot handles on each side.

I added a few geranium plants that desperately needed to be repotted and are going to soon love life in their new vintage chair home.

I'm happy that I got to save this little chair from the garbage man that was on the next block.
