Make a Scrap Wood Table Riser

A table riser is a pretty way to give importance to items on your dinner table or to give height to your displays. Today I'll show you just how easy it is to make one yourself with scrap wood.
Make a Table Riser from Scrap Wood

This is a simple project, using a scrap of wood and can be decorated in your favorite style.
I started with an old board and wooden candle cups, any size board will be fine. I'm using a scrap of wood I had laying around and a few mismatched candle cups. Please visit the blue links for supplies needed for this project.

I painted the board white with a chalky spray paint I had in the workshop.

I added a small wreath stencil similar to this one and used a light coat of green craft paint.

Using an electric sander, I distressed the edges and lightly over the top of the painted wreath.

Over the top of the wreath I added a rub on transfer design similar to these from ReDesign with Prima. These transfers easily rub onto your project with no plastic look.

I used a matte spray sealer over the top of the design for durability.

I love the farmhouse look the transfer gave to my table riser. This was created from scraps and is my new favorite farmhouse table decoration.
