When I saw it, I loved it and just had to make it myself! 
The chunkiness, the color, and the embellishments! My favorite was the mushroom but today I made the candy cane embellishment because it was easier! 
If you're a fan of Anthropologie you're gonna love this! I had the perfect recycled sweater so I got to work!

This beautiful Christmas stocking was an experiment from the beginning. After seeing a neutral stocking in a holiday magazine I thought I'd try to make one for myself! 

Here's an easy one today! I'm making ornaments and a banner from a thrifted placemat! Yep, a placemat!
I was lucky enough to find fringed red and white striped placemats in the thrift store recently and I knew I'd use them for Christmas. 
Today was the day, I cut up one of the placemats and made the easiest stockings and mittens that can be hung on a banner or hung on the tree!

I've adored rustic wooden Christmas stockings hanging on the mantel since the minute I saw them. 
They are chippy and simple and neutral and wonderful. 
Recently I was inspired by the beautiful wooden stockings made by Lindsay at My Creative Days. She has a whole mantel full of beautiful white stockings among other fantastic projects. As a matter of fact, I just noticed they are the cover of Farmhouse Christmas magazine! 
Today I'm giving them a try with my own spin! ...

Here's a cute little way to serve your flatware  for Christmas dinner a la Pottery Barn.
I decided to make my own today.

With right sides of a cotton muslin fabric together...

I sewed around the stocking leaving a rather long leg on the top of the stocking for rolling.

Turn the stocking right-side-out, add a heart, fold down the top two times and press.
Then make more, enough for your whole family.
Next, if you're like me and just because you're on a roll you cut some out of a different fabric!
This time I did not roll down the top, I liked the ragged edge. 


Then make a whole bunch more!

Twas the night before Christmas...

This year I need to figure out a new idea for Christmas. 
As you may or may not know, we have a puppy. Well he just turned one but is still very much a puppy! I can not even imagine our usual 6' tree with ornaments anywhere near Sam. 
I'm thinking of getting a 3' tree and putting it on a table but what about all my special ornaments? 
When I saw a gorgeous oak wall rack for ornaments on Antique Farmhouse I knew I had to make one of my own for all of our special ornaments.  Needless to say the cost of this beautiful oak ornament rack was out of my budget.

I've been working with a Sherpa jacket I found in the donation pile. I've made many different projects this season including these adorable Sherpa Christmas trees...

Here is a quick and easy, last minute garland you can make for a little more than $2 from the Dollar Tree.  I was there today looking for some last minute stocking stuffers and I ran across a package of small silver ornaments... 

The ornament pack had about 15 little plastic silver ornaments for $1.25, yep, the new price at Dollar Tree!

I bought a roll of white sparkly ribbon and the package of ornaments because I had a great last minute craft idea. 
I pulled out all the ribbon on the roll and found the center. 



Next, I tied on one of the ornaments in the center.

Happy New Year everyone!! 
With the new year comes a new home decorating project.  You see, I have this wall in my kitchen...
Most of my first floor is open flooring including the new kitchen, but there is this wall that was too big and too blank compared to everything else in the house. Most of the walls in my kitchen are windows, except this one. 
I've had many ideas but never got around to doing anything with it, until now.
