This was my favorite Mother's Day idea... 
a thrifted herb garden.



I had the perfect box, thank you Goodwill, and when I got it home I painted it black.


I printed out the word "herbs" from my computer.

and transferred the word to the box using graphite paper.  Then I hand-painted the word with white craft paint.
Next I distressed the edges with sandpaper and antiqued the box with Antiquing gel.
I lined the box with plastic then added rocks for drainage then potting soil. Lastly I added my favorite herbs.  I used copper plant markers to identify…

Mother's Day is almost here and I'm ready!

Lavender smells so beautiful and little sachets for your drawer makes everything smell wonderful. They make great Mother's Day gifts too! 

This project came just in time for Mother's Day! I've had the idea to make plant markers for my herb garden for a while and when it ended up to be this easy, I was ready to make a bunch!

If you've been around a while you may know that I love to build things. 
Especially to build things from repurposed parts. 
Today I'm making a birdhouse to replace one I had made a while back and I'm going to give it to my Mother for Mother's Day.

A special project for my Mother...


I love hydrangeas, so does my Mom. Instead of just a plant I wanted to make her a special planter too.
I purchased this box at the thrift store, it had a lot of potential. I especially loved the black iron handle.


I think of the thrift store first because I know I will find something that I can make into a one of a kind piece, save money, and at the same time, save it from a landfill.
I painted this box Old White with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint. then I stenciled on a stencil that a friend sent to me just because she is nice.



She sent me 3 stencils... Sage, Thyme and Parsley. Stop by and see her awesomerustic herb crates.

Back in the corner of my basement I found an old, antique crate that is perfect for this project. 

This one is for all you tote lovers out there... 

Today I'm rescuing a 1980's tote complete with cut-out hearts.
I remember when we thought this style was the bomb!!
I'm thinking it will make a great repurposed garden tote now.

Recently I was given a bag full of individual succulents. 
I'm not a big plant person but I have been known to keep succulents alive. 
Today I'm going to make an adorable planter garden for these plants. 
I'm thinking it will make a great Mother's Day gift!

The tote I'm transforming today for my gardening has been one of my favorites for a long time. 
I used this tote to carry my craft supplies, labels, and tags to craft shows. 
With one easy swipe of a stencil I'm transforming it into my new favorite garden tote.

I'm so excited about today's project! As you may have seen, I've been working on decorating my outdoor deck. I'm going with a blue theme and when I found a set of gorgeous fish plates that match, I was over the moon! 

When I set up my potting bench for the spring I realized I had a lot of terra cotta pots in all sizes. 
Then when I saw different configurations for herb gardens on Pinterest, I realized had just the supplies I needed!
Three terra cotta pots in 3 different sizes were almost all I needed to create a gorgeous herb garden for my deck!
