A Repurposed Metal Flower Basket
I love finding unusual things at the thrift
store and discovering new uses for them.
This was a metal basket I've never seen before. If anyone knows what it may have been used for please let me know.
I started out by removing the wood from the handle and
leaving just the wire metal.
I mounted the basket to a piece of mahogany with a length of chain as a hanger.
A metal tag and a repurposed piece of hardware keep the basket secured to the wood.
The basket has a great industrial look.
It is the perfect place for a pretty container of spring flowers.
The basket can hang inside or out and looks beautiful!

ReplyDeleteThat is so adorable. I have a three tier basket that you used to hang in the kitchen and put fruit and stuff in that I am wanting to make a flower arrangement in .....just not got to it yet....
ReplyDeleteGreat job.
I love it! What a fun idea!
ReplyDeleteHow fun. Such a perfect use for this basket.

I'm not sure what this basket is for, don't think I've seen any like it. I certainly wouldn't have thought to do what you did ~ love it!

I've started looking at things at the thrift store and asking myself, "What would Susan do with this?" Sometimes the question, "What would my husband say if I brought this home" wins, though! ;-)
ReplyDeleteSuper sweet! I thought it was a strainer of some sort?!

Love, love, love.
ReplyDeleteI know what it is. It is to take gold fish out of a fish tank. Ha Ha I have no idea but great re-purposed.
ReplyDeleteThis is a strainer basket mainly for cooking noodles, of course can be used for blanching other ingredients as well :)
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I have no idea what it is used for but it couldn't be as sweet as what you did with it.
