A Repurposed Metal Flower Basket

I love finding unusual things at the thrift
store and discovering new uses for them.

This was a metal basket I've never seen before.

If anyone knows what it may have been used for
please let me know.

I started out by removing the wood from the handle and
leaving just the wire metal.

I mounted the basket to a piece of mahogany with a length of chain as a hanger.

A metal tag and a repurposed piece of hardware keep the basket secured to the wood.

The basket has a great industrial look.

It is the perfect place for a pretty container of spring flowers.

The basket can hang inside or out and looks beautiful!

  5. I've started looking at things at the thrift store and asking myself, "What would Susan do with this?" Sometimes the question, "What would my husband say if I brought this home" wins, though! ;-)

  7. I know what it is. It is to take gold fish out of a fish tank. Ha Ha I have no idea but great re-purposed.
