Repurposed Architectural Chalkboards

How great were these old table legs...??

Very cool but not as cool as they are now...

This chalkboard has great legs!

I built a shelf for the top then painted the piece Pure White with Annie Sloan Chalk paint.

I gave the whole piece a color wash with French Linen.

You can do a color wash with a dry brush and a spray bottle of water. Dry brush your top coat lightly then squirt it with
water and wipe it off. Keep doing this and rubbing off the
top coat until you've reached the look you like.

I love the Restoration look I got with this paint treatment!

I added a piece of trim to the top and a ledge for chalk.
The chalkboard was a pre-made chalkboard cut to size and glued in place.

Two old cup hooks hold keys or in this case a porcelain house number.

The chalkboard stands on it's own or hangs on the wall
using 2 D hooks attached to the back.

And because I had 2 sets of legs, meet twin sister...
Goldie...she's the gold glitzy sister.

I used Graphite paint with a gold accent of Gilding Wax.

An upside down gold drawer pull holds the chalk.

I think they'll look fantastic in someone's kitchen
or entry way!

  4. That's a definite golf medalist! I love the first one best as I am in my "light" mood/mode right now. Love the color and they are both ingenious!
