How to Make a Faux Depression Glass Spring Vase

When someone offers me old light fixtures I jump on it!

light fixture with frosted flowers

This is the light fixture that came out of my friend's bathroom remodel.

Recently I made a sea glass colored candle using those beautiful flower shaped light globes.

Today I'm using another one of the flower globes and a glass sugar dispenser to create a pretty Spring vase.

I made the secret recipe in yellow this time.

You can find the recipe for teal blue mixture in the last post

Paint 2 coats letting it dry between coats.

It dries to a beautiful clear yellow and looks a lot like depression glass.

I sprayed the finished pieces with a spray sealer

I attached the flower top to the sugar container with E6000 glue then tied the center with a buffalo check ribbon

It makes a beautiful Spring flower vase with the look of vintage depression glass.

  1. I see what you mean great minds think alike. Love your vases and a good example of an other way to colour them.

  2. Gosh Susan, I love them in yellow too. Still haven't tried it but this idea is still on my Must Try List! Pinned this one too 😊

  3. That is such a great repurpose of those two items and the color is perfect for spring.
