Repurposed Vintage Bakeware Pumpkin
If you follow Homeroad and I sure hope you do, you know that at this time of year I turn everything into a pumpkin! So when I found this very cool bakeware mold at a garage sale, I saw pumpkin written all over it!
The mold already had the "pumpkin" ribs, and the perfect hole in the top for a stem.
The lid attached to the piece with clips, I'm not sure what kind of mold it used to be, if anyone knows please let me know.
All I had to do with this fun pumpkin was to add a champagne cork for a stem and a faux fall leaf with the hot glue gun.
I also added a coiled piece of wire to the top as a tendril.
This is one of my favorite repurposed Fall pumpkins and it could not have been easier to make.

Really fun project! The beauty is in simplicity and this repurposed vintage bakeware pumpkin proves that. It certainly adds a lovely vintage vibe to your Fall decor.
ReplyDeleteI think your mold, which you repurposed into a cute pumpkin, is a pudding mold. I have seen similar molds used for making plum puddings at Christmas time. Let us know if anyone else knows for sure!
ReplyDeleteI think you're right! It must have been a beautiful plum pudding on the Christmas table! Thanks so much for visiting and I hope you're following along with Homeroad by email :)
DeleteYes, these were used for pudding or jello molds, which were very pretty & popular in the 60-70's. I have a recipe for a Strawberry Dessert mold & a Pumpkin Bourbon mold, Talk About Good Cookbook.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the information on the mold. It sure works as a pumpkin in my world too! Thanks for visiting and please follow along by email above :)
