How to Make a Beautiful Bill Holder

The bills are a fact of life, so why not give
them a pretty spot while they're waiting to get paid.

This antique sewing machine drawer was a purchase on a recent trip "upstate"

... that's what we Long Islanders call the rest of New York.

I found an awesome place up there that can only be described as heaven!

The junk yard up there had tons of these drawers and I had the perfect use for this one.

I wanted to fix it up a little so that gorgeous drawer front popped!

I began by painting the drawer white with Annie Sloan chalk paint in Pure White.

Then I stenciled on the word "bills".

It isn't just beautiful... it's functional!

I'm practical that way.

  4. Great job! I bought 4 of these last year and refinished them quite similar to yours. 2 I used to organize my computer desk and 2 I used in my craft room. One for sewing supplies and the other one is a container for embellished cans holding all kinds of supplies. I wish I could find more...
