Another year of making repurposed Christmas ornaments.

I love making Christmas ornaments, especially repurposed ornaments created from something that end up in the thrift store like these vintage Scrabble pieces. 

A few years ago I created some ornaments using scrabble tiles and old clothespins...

Every year I make a new Christmas ornament using Scrabble tiles. 

This easy project has a sentimental spin and just makes me happy!

It came fast and went fast! The holidays are  over and now it's time to pack it all away. We celebrated, we partied, we gave gifts, and now is time to clean it all up! But where do you store your fragile ornaments? I found a great ornament storage solution at Costco and it was free!

I was out searching the antique store for something that would make great Christmas ornaments...

Some say gold leaf, gilded, gold leafing... call it what you want it is beautiful and can make a simple dollar store ornament look great! 
You can do this process on ornaments you already have or buy a sleeve of them for $1.25 at the dollar store and make them over!

I save a lot of jars, bottles, and thrift store salt shakers throughout the year just so I can make these amazingly easy and adorable Christmas snow globe ornaments.


Some are made with recycled jars my favorite being the Trader Joes Everything But a Bagel jar. 
Salt shakers are another favorite and I hit the mother load one day at the thrift store when I found 8 of them all the same. 

Sometimes I just like to play and create with things I already have in my workshop. 
Today I'm making easy Christmas ornaments using vintage ephemera I've been collecting for years. 
Many of the supplies for these cute ornaments can be found in the dollar store too!

Another labor of love project for me today! 
I'm creating velvet mushroom ornaments to hang on a small Christmas tree. 
They make great gifts or package decorations and can be sewn or not sewn and decorated in several different ways.

If you've been following along this Christmas season you've seen that I had a whole bunch of wooden ornaments that were made by a special family member. 
I literally had about 30 of them and wanted to find a way to celebrate these ornaments and give them new life. 
I made a very cute hanging decoration but I only used 5 of the ornaments. 
So I had another idea...

I'm beginning to thing about about Christmas.

It began with a lucky find at the thrift store. A box of small white ornaments that could definitely be used for something! It didn't take long for me to figure out what that was. 

This was a quick and easy project and I love the final look of these vintage inspired Christmas tree ornaments.  
I had all the supplies at home and the ones I didn't came from the dollar store. 
These ornaments would be great sellers at a craft fair, to make with the kids, or to make yourself to fill your tree!
