This story started out in the thrift store with a happy little accident. 
I bought a little Zara lamp that was 75% off. It ended up to be only $2.00 and it was brand new.  
I wanted a cute little lamp for my kitchen to use as a small accent light. 
The lamp didn't have a shade but it did have a beautiful fabric cord with a switch so I figured I could work out something when I got home.  
See what happened....

Picture if you will, a lamp found on the side of the road. A very large lamp... 4 feet high, very ornate and weighing about 50 lbs... It had to have come from a castle! 
It was brought home not by me this time, but by my dumpster diving daughter. Even I had second thoughts about repurposing this one!
The lamp sat in the garage for a very long time until I couldn't help myself any longer, I had to do something with it.
So I took it apart.

The more I unscrewed, the more excited I became.
Look at all this good stuff! Now my creative mind was racing!
I was thinking candle holder...
and candle stick...

I even thought these pieces would make some very cool hooks, maybe even a whole line of them!

I'm even thinking planter.…

Today I'm repurposing the very last metal shade from a great find a while ago. 

Every so often I run across a piece of junk that  gets me excited!

And today, this one was it! 
It came from my daughter's new apartment.

This chandelier was replaced and tossed out the door and onto the fence, it was just hanging there until I came along. 
I just knew this would be a fun project!
First I removed every piece of dirty, dingy glass bling and soaked them in dish soap for a few hours. 

Trust me you will be seeing these beauties again real soon!
And now for the rest of the lamp... I bet you think I tossed it, that ugly, filthy brass.

Nope! First I grabbed a couple pieces to repurpose... yes I did. 
I took apart this part of the lamp then put the pieces back together so it sat on a stand which was the piece that hung on the ceiling before. 

Today I'm turning the lamp into a fancy tassel!

Creating from leftover parts is probably my 
favorite thing to do.

As time goes on I find myself more and more attracted to everything BOHO.
Maybe because I grew up in the 60's and 70's but I'm thinking my taste is moving toward the simple and natural designs of Bohemian decor. 
Is there a BOHO Farmhouse? Is that a thing? 
Today I'm creating a simple project that was more out of necessity than anything else and I am in love with the finished product!
