Aged Wood Pallet Christmas Tree Made with Junk
This cute little quick project was copied straight from the pages of Organized Clutter. My friend Carlene is a DIY genius. I love her work! I'm copying her junky tree idea but my project will be created on a tiny Weatherwashed pallet.
I started out with small pieces of wood that were not stained or painted. I dipped each piece into a bucket of Weatherwash, it's a beautiful way to age wood and it comes in several colors, it's like barn wood in a bottle.
Today, I am using the color Oaked. I waited overnight for the wood to dry then built a small pallet by laying the wood pieces side by side then wood gluing a couple of cross pieces to the back to secure all the wood together.
I gathered all kinds of junk from my workshop and laid them out in the shape of a Christmas tree. I used k…

Smash Book and Junk Journal Making
I have a new hobby! As if crafting, repurposing, being a grandmother of 7 and blogging isn't enough, I found something to take over the last 5 minutes I had left!
And I'm so excited about it!
Today I'm going to show you what I've been doing and how you can do it too!
Curious? Take a look...

Repurposed Jewelry Scrapbook and Journal Page Holders
If you've been following along lately you'll know I have a new hobby... scrapbook journaling.
Smash Books and Junk Journals to be exact. I've been having so much fun decorating old and dollar store books and making journals out of them.
I ran into a small problem while I was working on the journals and I set out to fix that problem as beautifully and inexpensively as I could.

Free Cord Organizer for the Junk Drawer
Here is a quick and simple organizing idea for your junk drawer using recycled toilet paper tubes.
Does your charger drawer look like mine?
If it does then this is a free and easy project just for you!
Try this...
Cut a cardboard toilet paper tube in 1/2.
Next, wrap it in pretty paper or burlap, use clothespins to secure until the glue dries.
You might want to use full size tubes for longer cords.
And that's all there is to it!
The colors and designs are up to you!
Instantly a neater junk drawer!
I hope you enjoyed this project and you'll take a look at my Amazon Shop for craft supplies I recommend.
Also while you're here please sign up for the Homeroad emails on my sidebar so I can send my latest DIY post straight to you.

Repurposed Vintage Garden Signs
It's garden time in our area! Finally!
Truth be told I'm not great with plants but I have been known to grow a nice flower garden.
Today I'm turning a great road-side find into signs for my garden.
I love using rusty tubs and found junk items in my garden and today's project is no different...

Antique Door turned Coffee Table
There is this antique dealer (or junk guy) that lives a few blocks from me and he is always throwing out great things!
Just a warning, this post is going to make you dizzy.
I've changed my mind while making this piece several times along the way.
Recently I drove by the old junk dealers house and as usual there was a pile of junk at the curb.
On the top of the pile was this 5' long heavy, wooden door!
I pulled over and as I was putting down the seats in my car to slide it in the man came down the driveway!
Embarrassing!
He explained to me that what I was picking up from the side of his driveway was an antique armoire door.
Jackpot!
So... I proceeded to stuff the door into the back of my car.
He didn't help, just kept talking!
I was waiting for him to ask me for money for it but he d…

Scrap Wood Owl Garden Stakes
I saw the cutest wooden owl stakes while perusing Pinterest recently and just had to give it a try! If you're a Pinterest lover please follow along!
The owls I saw were actually made from wood scraps and weren't painted at all.
After an image search on Google I was unable to find the original source so I'm creating my own version for you today.
Check these out...

Junkers United Glass Junky Punky, a Pinboard, and Link Party!
Lately, I've been creating pumpkins out of any round junk that is not tied down... a little orange paint and a stem is all I need!
I've painted round rusty grills, round finials, round cork trivets... everything has pumpkin potential to me....
Today is no exception!

Vintage Scrap Book Pumpkins
Good morning! I say morning no matter what time it is when you're reading
this because I'm an early bird. I get most of my projects done and posts
written before 8 am. Thanks to my puppy I'm an early riser!
I always love the Fall, not only because it is cooler outside, but because I love to make repurposed pumpkin decorations.
Today I'm making probably one of my favorite pumpkins! I'm combining my love of scrapbooking with my love of making creative pumpkins.
