Here is a unique sign that reminds me of the  hymn sign at church and uses pieces from my  ever growing vintage Scrabble collection. 

I think my new favorite place is the dollar store. I feel a little better about visiting the dollar store during these times than the thrift stores. I find something new and fun to repurpose every time I go and today is no different!

I love making Christmas ornaments, especially repurposed ornaments created from something that end up in the thrift store like these vintage Scrabble pieces. 

A few years ago I created some ornaments using scrabble tiles and old clothespins...

If it is holiday time, it's Scrabble time! 

I collect vintage games, Dominoes, Cribbage,   Jenga, and of course Scrabble.

After making all the Scrabble ornaments I made for Christmas this year I had a lot of tiles left over. 

These signs are a combination of 2 different  thrift store finds. 

Every year I make a new Christmas ornament using Scrabble tiles. 

Another neighborhood walk this morning that yielded trash I turned into a treasure. It all started with this pile of pickets from a fence I found on the side of the road.

Sometimes you get very lucky at the thrift store and sometimes you don't.  This week I found these great unfinished wooden crosses and I knew I could give them an update!

I was inspired to make this metal angel ornament from an online shop. I had the fun idea to add Scrabble letters and it turned out adorable!...

Today I'm dragging out the jig saw.  I honestly haven't used it in a long time but a new friend uses it all the time for her amazing projects so I'm dragging it out of the corner!

Today marks my 5th craft fair at our local library.

Another year of making repurposed Christmas ornaments.

Today I'm reposting one of Homeroad's first 2011 Christmas projects, the photos were taken with old technology but the hinge tree is still a great idea! 

I'm using what I have in the junk pile today to create a  chalkboard memo stand.
This tree slice cutting board was in the donation pile but I pulled it out to use it for a new project.
The first thing I did was to find a dowel that was the right size to fit into the stand. 



The one I found was the wrung of an old chair.  The stand I'm using was the candle holder leftover from this project. I glued the stand to the base with E6000 glue. I attached the cutting board to the dowel using a few random pieces from my junk supply.  Here's the back: I attached a small piece of Scrabble tray with hot glue to the front to hold chalk.  I painted the entire piece with black chalkboard paintthen added a hook to the top of the board to hold notes or photos.
