If you know me you know I like to go for a walk whenever I can. Lately, I've been walking a little slower with my new puppy Sammy.
I often find cool things on the side of the road and have been known to be seen carrying some pretty strange things down the road on my way home.
Today's find was small but I knew it had some potential.

Do you know what a garden hod is? If you don't, I didn't either.
I called it a basket, a basket to gather vegetables from the garden. Or a basket for eggs from the chicken coop.
As soon as I figured out what it was I was ready to make one of my own and with the pieces I found on the side of the road... today was the day!

Another day, another screech to a stop on my way to work. Lately I've been on a streak, I'm finding so many great things on the side of the road.

Good morning! I say morning no matter what time it is when you're reading this because I'm an early bird. I get most of my projects done and posts written before 8 am. Thanks to my puppy I'm an early riser!
I always love the Fall, not only because it is cooler outside, but because I love to make repurposed pumpkin decorations.
Today I'm making probably one of my favorite pumpkins! I'm combining my love of scrapbooking with my love of making creative pumpkins.

I pulled over for a very interesting find recently...

I wasn't exactly sure what it was when I found it because it was getting dark but I pulled over and threw it in the trunk. It looked to me like it was the perfect piece to give a little farmhouse kitchen style.

When I got home I discovered that it was actually a cabinet piece that was probably a built-in to hold dishes in a kitchen. It had a bead board backing and wooden spindles.
It is a very rustic piece, made of pine with very rough cuts,  no fine carpentry here but I liked it and knew it had potential.   The first thing I thought was that it needed to be a little taller.

I built an apron around the base then added legs that were leftover from another project.

All it needed now was a coat of paint to unify the whole piece. I used An…

My theme this holiday season is  all about the Christmas tree farm.

I'm kinda loving making Christmas signs this year.
When I saw this gorgeous sign on Antique Farmhouse and then again in a few other places, I knew it was a sign I need to make!
I used a vinyl cutter but if you don't have one, stencils are available that give the same look.
There is also the "transfer" method that has always worked well for me.

I get questions all the time like "Really? You found that on the side of the road?" or "I've gotta start walking in your neighborhood." It's true, I find so many things on the side of the road that I remake into something I can use for my home. Today was the perfect example...

I had two completely different style furniture pieces with two completely different wood finishes but my hopes were to bring them together to create a matching set for this dining room.

Another neighborhood walk this morning that yielded trash I turned into a treasure. It all started with this pile of pickets from a fence I found on the side of the road.

My workshop is far less than ideal but I'm making it work.
This is the before...

Right now I'm working on decorating my guest room on the cheap!
My children are finally ready to fly the nest and I'm ready to repurpose those rooms!
Today I'm using an old cabinet door with a very simple makeover with just a few supplies I had at home. I'm sharing what I used, what worked and a funny story about what I found.

Recently I was watching another blogger's video and saw an office sign on the wall behind her.
I saw that she repurposed another sign to make this one and I knew right away that I wanted to make something similar for my office.
This easy canvas technique can be done with a sign saying anything... kitchen, farmhouse, vintage, whatever!

Today's project began with an amazing roadside find while on my morning walk.
I've found some of my best treasures while on walks around my neighborhood.
This find was very unusual and I knew just what I was going to do with it!
If you love a pretty garden you're gonna love it!

Another summer project under our belts and it all began with a few bad winters. This post has the growth of the plants we chose over 5 years too!

Every once in a while I have to take apart an old project and make it over again.  Today as I wait for my new kitchen to be finished I'm repurposing a pot rack I no longer need...

I'm so excited about today's project! As you may have seen, I've been working on decorating my outdoor deck. I'm going with a blue theme and when I found a set of gorgeous fish plates that match, I was over the moon!

I messed up... I have no before picture... probably because this piece almost ended up back on the curb.

Futons have gone the way of the water bed so they are easy to find on the side of the road or in thrift stores.

Meet Fifi... she was lost but now she's found.
