Dollar Store Bunny Sign Makeover

Re-making Dollar Store signs has become a fun stay at home activity for everyone!  With the Spring season fast approaching I grabbed a few signs from Dollar Tree and I'm creating up a storm!

I started with these Dollar Tree supplies but ended up switching out the bow at the last minute.

First I sanded off the texture on the front of the tag shaped sign with an electric sander.

It had a layer of fine glitter that needed to go. 😬

Next, I painted the sign with a white chalk based paint.

I painted the bunny shape with a chocolate brown

Then I attached the bunny to the tag sign, slightly hanging off the bottom, with hot glue.

If you notice in the supply photo, I purchased a clip-on bunny tail like this one while I was there.

I removed the clip on the back of the tail and used hot glue to glue it to the bunny.

Now it was time for the bow, I made one from the dollar store ribbon which worked out fine but seeing how I love neutral decorating, I switched it out for a buffalo checked bow.

On the bottom of the sign I added a hand-made jute carrot I made last year.

Then on the top I used a piece of torn drop cloth fabric for the hanger.

I think he turned out adorable!
