Sometimes a little spray paint can make all the difference between tossing something and loving it! 
This weekend I was cleaning up summer on the deck when I ran across a lantern I bought earlier in the year. 
The lantern was rusty (and not in a good way), the frosted glass was damaged, and it looked like heck! 
Until I grabbed my favorite spray paint and performed a Christmas miracle!

I saw the cutest cement look lanterns in Anthropologie lately and I knew I could find a lantern and duplicate the look with my own spin.

As luck would have it on my morning walk today I found the cutest little lantern right smack in the middle of the road. 
The garbage truck had just come by so I am assuming that it fell out of someone's garbage. 
I think it came from a string of outdoor lights but I am going to repurpose it and create a mini lantern ornament for the Christmas tree.

My daughter and I worked on a project for an auction recently. The project, like most of my projects didn't end when the blog post was over.

Sometimes it just takes a little experimenting to turn something old into something new. Last weekend was my daughter's garage sale and before the leftovers were sent to donation I grabbed something from the pile that gave me an idea...

Especially when it's an adorable little Fall project that can be done in no time while watching TV. 
Today I found just that easy project that took no time to finish and right away I put it to good use! 

Have you ever seen a candle in a lantern that was left out in the sun? Well, now imagine a wax battery operated candle...



This was one of my favorite candle lanterns from Target. It helda battery powered candle and I had it out on the deck. Problem was I forgot to move it out of the sun and the whole thing melted into a big puddle, batteries included. Good to know it was actually made of wax but it was trash now. 

This was a quick and easy project from parts I found in my basement. Every once in a while I get the urge to just dig through my box of junk pieces and see what I can make. Sometimes I even surprise myself and am thrilled with the results! 

The things I find on the side of the road never cease to amaze me! Like these lanterns, I actually found 6 and sold 4 of them. These were expensive PB lanterns and they were dumped in a pile on the side of the road. 

A while back I updated a pair of hanging lights in my kitchen. 

Now more than ever before it is important to use what you have.

Recently I was offered two metal plant propagation stands. They were interesting, metal sides with test tubes and all. They were also very dirty! 
Biggest problem is that I don't do indoor plants. I kill them every time! 
I can do a lot of things but I must have the brownest thumb on the planet! 
I decided to take those vessels and turn them into something else of course!
