I know, I know... it's still summer! Believe me I'm still beaching it myself but somewhere in the back of my mind I know that crafters are already getting started making their fall decorations.

Have you ever repurposed a light fixture before?  If you know me you know I hate to throw away anything and when we installed new ceiling lights recently I just had to recycle the old glass fixtures. 

These beauties on my mantel started out life as bright orange Dollar Tree pumpkins! You can't even believe the difference! When I received a box of textured paints from DecoArt #ad I knew they would make those inexpensive pumpkins look amazing! 

If you've been following along for a while you know I love to make pumpkins that are repurposed from something else. 
I actually love repurposing everything but pumpkins are my favorite. 
Today, you're gonna laugh! 
I may have taken it too far this time but I love the way they turned out!

I found the cutest metal basket set at the thrift store recently, they were rose gold looking baskets I thought were beautiful! 
Problem was that I used the basket to pick tomatoes from my garden this summer and the acid from the tomatoes ruined the basket. 
It ended up with spots where the acid removed the color. 
The only thing left to do with this pretty basket now was to repurpose it... 

This Fall project began with an old light fixture a friend gave me after renovating her bathroom... How did she know? 

A while back I made a fun project using a whole bunch of wine corks I had been saving. The project was a wine cork trivet but as some projects go, it sat around for a while and I repurposed it.

I always love the Fall, not only because it is cooler outside, but because I love to make repurposed pumpkin decorations.

Today I'm working on a new repurposed pumpkin project for the Fall. I'm turning an everyday object into fun and free Fall home decor. 

Fall is on the way and repurposing pumpkins is easy! Find what you can in the thrift stores and garage sales and give them new life for the Fall as repurposed pumpkins! 

My idea for this project began with a few less than spectacular dollar store pumpkins. I wanted to repurpose them and turn them into something farmhouse and fabulous for my fall decor. 



My first thought was to just add vintage hardware parts and create stems on these beauties... but no.



That fix sure wasn't working, it needed something else.
Creating an old newspaper look:
I decided to cut up an old book and decoupage small pieces of yellowed book pages to the pumpkins.

While I liked the decoupaged pumpkins so much better, the stems were still not right. 
How to create a repurposed stem:
I dug deep into my stash of metal lamp parts and came up with pieces that did the trick.

Today I'm taking a great idea I saw recently and running with it!  I'm making a rag pumpkin that is not only easy to make but can be customized using whatever you already have around the house. 

If you've been following Homeroad for a while now, you'll know I repurpose almost anything into  pumpkins in the Fall. 
I see potential pumpkins everywhere! 
Today I got a call that something cool was on the side of the road and I should go get it right away!

If you follow Homeroad and I sure hope you do, you know that at this time of year I turn everything into a pumpkin! So when I found this very cool bakeware mold at a garage sale, I saw pumpkin written all over it! 

I was inspired to create this project after seeing several metal ribbed pumpkins that held battery powered candles.  It looked like something I could create with repurposed pieces I already had at home.
