Happy Memorial Day weekend friends!  🇺🇸
And let's remember today and always, those that gave their lives for our freedom!
Today I made an easy frayed rag garland flag to hang around my house.
I love the colors of the flag and this easy project can be left up all summer!

I love making American flags and through the years on Homeroad I've made a ton of them!
I found a great set of star stencils that takes the work out of making the stars on the flags I make.
Today I'm repurposing something pretty weird to make an adorable wooden American flag.

Here I go again with American flags.
During the summer I decorate all over the house with all kinds of American flags, most of them I made.
If you are visiting from outside the United States of America, please consider using the colors of your flags.
Today I'm using scrap fabric and a good imagination to create this fun and funky flag garland.
Come take a peek!

Summer is the season of American flags in our country.
Today's project can be done using an  American flag on a stick or any small flag you want to display.
I love recycling, especially something that can be used in my home.
Repurposing new home decor is not only fun but cost effective too!

On a recent trip to the craft store I came close to buying this pretty Fourth of July rag garland... but I didn't.

I made the cutest mini garland today on a whim.
I had no plans to do this, I had my new watercolor paints out and it just kind of happened.
This garland is so tiny and is great to hang on small places like a small wreath.
You may even have everything you need at home right now!

It is that time of year when I decorate with red, white, and blue for the summer holidays.
I've done several fun projects already and with the supplies for this one, I made two projects.
This pretty garland was so easy to make I did it at work!
I kid you not! Take a look...

This might just be my favorite banner of all times!
I'm using repurposed materials, a little painting, a little stenciling, and a little iron-on technique.
I created an American flag pennant banner that is great for summer decorating and the best part is that this one is reversible!
See what I mean...

I'll begin by saying that I love this project and if you have a lot of wine corks laying around like I do, this is the cutest thing to make!
This wasn't my idea, I ran across a bunch of inspiration pins on Pinterest.
I'm making my own red, white, and blue version for the summer holidays.
So grab some wine corks and follow along, it's easy!

If you've ever run across a great cardboard box and thought, "There must be something I can do with this great box"...
Then you're my person today!
I've been collecting these blueberry crates from BJ's lately.
I'm sure you can probably find them at other big box stores or even the grocery store.
Honestly, just about any kind of cardboard box will work for this project...

The Fourth of July calls for home made flag pennants!

Here is a method to create your own with
scraps of fabric you may already have.

You've probably seen these awesome flags around the internet and like me, knew it would be so easy to make using things I already had around the house! Today I'm giving it a try and I'm thrilled with the results!

Pennant flags to decorate your home.

These were made from vintage upholstery tape.

I cut flag shapes from the tape and put a drop of hot glue in between the layers to secure the flags to twine.

Cute little aged clothes pinsclip to the top for decoration.

I added items of interest, vintage clip art, and old photos to the clips.

This garland adds a vintage look to my fan cover photo display.
