My oldest daughter is a master snowflake cutter.

Today I'm doing a project that uses all the clothespins you've been hanging onto. Today I'm creating wooden clothespin snowflakes and stars with a junky twist! 

In case you happen to be low on clothespins, the dollar store has a package for a dollar that will work perfectly.

Recently I found a great bag of discarded ornaments at the thrift store including these metal snowflake ornaments. 
Today I'm going to show you how to give metal snowflakes a beautiful rustic brass patina. 
The snowflakes look amazing now hanging on a rag garland.

Create a beautiful winter mantel with Christmas leftovers!

Putting away the Christmas decorations can be bitter sweet. 
There are so many pieces I just love so I'm keeping them out this year and creating an icy blue winter mantel.
I changed out my Christmas Mantel by removing the Santa, the reindeer, and the lights. 

In their places I added my icy blue Mason Jar collection. 
These colors are perfect for the cold winter months. 

I added a battery powered tea light under the vintage insulators for a little sparkle.



 I matched the pillows on the kitty approved couch too!

Leaving up those snowy trees just works for the winter and I barely had to move them. 

I added a giant glittered snowflake to my DIY mantel ladderwhich I leave on my mantel all year long. 

Christmas is over so how are you decorating  for the winter? How about that tiered tray you had filled with Santas and Christmas decorations? 

I'm officially naming myself the self proclaimed Queen of DIY garland. 
No, seriously, I love making garlands and especially Christmas garlands of all kinds. At the end of this post you can find a link to many of my DIY garlands. 
They are probably the easiest projects to make with the biggest bang!  Hang them on hooks, racks, trees... anywhere.

I keep up many of the pine trees and dark green accents while adding a little snowflake action wherever I can.

They are chippy and simple and neutral and wonderful.
