On a recent trip to the craft store I came close to buying this pretty Fourth of July rag garland... but I didn't. 

"Baby you're a firework!"

I can not take credit for this cute idea but I'm going to put my own spin on it and put it out there for everyone looking to decorate a tiered tray or fill a bowl with decorations for summer and the Fourth of July. 

The Fourth of July calls for home made flag pennants!

Here is a method to create your own with 
scraps of fabric you may already have.

This project is so free and easy to make that it's sinful!  The inspiration came to me from a project a friend did recently and I just happen to have the sweet gum tree nearby!

This one is for all my fans of Dollar Store makeovers!  I took these 2 simple boxes and turned them into something easy and fun to make. One is for the art lover and the other is a Fourth of July decoration you're going to want to try! 

A rustic and distressed flag for the Fourth of July.

I found these great stars at the Dollar Tree recently and was saving them for just the right inspiration. My last trip to Marshalls gave me the inspiration I needed for this easy Fourth of July craft! 

American flag anything is great for summer decorating. 
Today I'm taking an old thrift store basket and turning it into a beautiful painted flag basket for the Fourth of July. 
This easy project will look great all summer!

I love this summer and all the American flags that are displayed during the holidays. 
It is something about the graphics of the flag that I love. 
In the past 12 years on Homeroad I've done a ton of American flag projects and sometimes the simple ones are the best! 
Today's project is for the beginner and is super simple to do!

This pretty garland was so easy to make I did it at work!

Here is a cute project and it is just in time to make for the Fourth of July.
I'm repurposing one of the tiered shelves from the Target dollar spot. I think we all have one or at least I see a ton of them in the thrift stores. 
So if you have one and you're tired of the look like I was then you'll love this fun idea to jazz it up a bit.

It's Summertime again and making red, white, and blue decorations for the Fourth is my favorite craft. 


It is time for Ten on the 10th and our theme is Fourth of July! 



This patriotic project began with leftover 1" x 1" oak trim pieces and little fabric flags like the ones the politicians hand out at parades.🇺🇸
You can find flags like this at the Dollar Tree.
First, I cut the wood into blocks the length of the flags, about 6".

Next, I removed the flag from the stick and wrapped it around three sides of the wooden block. 
I attached the flags to the blocks with Matte Mod Podge, first under the flag and then on top. 

When the Mod Podge dried I trimmed any overhanging flag fabric with scissors.

This project can be done on any thrifted item or one you already have at home like I'm doing.

On a rainy Fourth of July on the East coast,

Sometimes I just like to create from things I have around the house.  Today I'm making a stenciled American flag project made with found objects!  DIY Fourth of July decorations are my favorite this time of the year! 

If you've ever run across a great cardboard box and thought, "There must be something I can do with this great box"...
Then you're my person today! 
I've been collecting these blueberry crates from BJ's lately. 
I'm sure you can probably find them at other big box stores or even the grocery store.
Honestly, just about any kind of cardboard box will work for this project...

Who doesn't like a cute project you can make from recycled clothing? 
I sure do! 
So gather your old red and white clothing along with a pair of blue jeans that are headed to donation and follow along!
