This project started because I was doing laundry in the basement and while I waited for the dryer to finish I began cleaning up the workshop.

This project might not be what you're thinking when you read the title.

This Fall project began with an old light fixture a friend gave me after renovating her bathroom... How did she know? 

Another fun project today that I came upon on a whim.

Have you ever repurposed a light fixture before?  If you know me you know I hate to throw away anything and when we installed new ceiling lights recently I just had to recycle the old glass fixtures. 

I've saved these light covers for a long time. They came on an outdoor set of string lights. When the lights burned out I kept the shades and they've come in pretty handy!

Score! Driving down the road this morning and I saw out of the corner of my eye, a large cement thing. 
I turned the car around for a closer look and sure enough it was cement. 
A cement fountain that must have broken over the winter because all that was at the curb was the top. 
Now look at it! ...

Don't you just love the look of solar lights at night?
I sure do but I'm not a fan of the cheap lights that just stick into the ground. 
I love to repurpose and I like my DIY solar lights with a bit of character. 
Today I'll show you how I turned the cheap $1 solar lights from the dollar store into something special! 

Here are two projects that just made me happy. Repurposed from another old light fixture. While I'm not a big fan of snow, I do love the beauty of snowflakes. 

This is where this project started. 

This story started out in the thrift store with a happy little accident. 
I bought a little Zara lamp that was 75% off. It ended up to be only $2.00 and it was brand new.  
I wanted a cute little lamp for my kitchen to use as a small accent light. 
The lamp didn't have a shade but it did have a beautiful fabric cord with a switch so I figured I could work out something when I got home.  
See what happened....

When you save everything, you are bound to go looking for it some day. 

I love making things from repurposed parts and the last time I changed the lightbulb on the ceiling in my bedroom closet, the glass fixture shade was never replaced. 

This is another fun solar light idea. I'm all about the beautiful solar lights on my deck this summer!

A fun project using an old repurposed lamp fixture.

If you follow Homeroad and I sure hope you do, you know that at this time of year I turn everything into a pumpkin! So when I found this very cool bakeware mold at a garage sale, I saw pumpkin written all over it! 

The cutest ghost light ever is easily made with a frosted wine bottle and black vinyl! 

Have you ever wanted to change up something and obsessed about it for a long time? 
That is the story with the hanging pendant lights in my kitchen. We had the kitchen renovated 2 years ago and I've disliked the pendant lights I chose ever since. 
I thought about replacing them all together but since they've only been there for 2 years, it didn't seem like the right thing to do. 
And seeing how I am a lifetime DIYer, and a little cheap, I just didn't have it in me to just buy new lights.

My daughter and I worked on a project for an auction recently. The project, like most of my projects didn't end when the blog post was over. 

Together we worked on a vertical succulent garden in a vintage frame. Her plant expertise and my love for DIY came together to create a beautiful project for the auction.
