Easy No-Sew Sherpa Christmas Pillow

Here is a fun and easy way to create a Christmas pillow using a plain pillow cover and scrap fabric.  You probably have most of the materials for this project at home already...

fabric scraps and scissors

First, I started with a plain cream colored velvet pillow form from Amazon. (affiliate link)

You could also recycle an old pillow cover if the design on it is small or neutral.

I gathered the fabrics I wanted to use for this project, they were all colors and textures I wanted for trees.

I used a green velvet and a black and white upholstery fabric that reminded me of tree branches.

The sherpa fabric was recycled from a jacket that was headed to the donation pile.

I created several sherpa projects this season using this one jacket, a few are still in the works so stay tuned!

I'm using Surebonder Fabric Hot Glue for this project.

Surebonder is washable but depending on the embellishments you use, you may just want to spot clean your pillow.

I cut triangles from each of the fabrics in different sizes and arranged them on the pillow cover the way I liked them.

I created the tree trunks from a brown gingham fabric and just tore the edges of the fabric for a frayed look.

When all the background trees were glued on, I added the smaller sherpa trees to the front.

On top of the trees I added a rusty star and small doilies on the top of others.

I added a strip of lace at the bottom for the snowy ground.

The design you create and the fabric you use is entirely up to you.

I just love the neutral colors, texture and pattern!

You may even decide to use only one large Sherpa tree to a pillow you may already have at home.

The pillow has a beautiful textured neutral look and couldn't have been easier to make.
